Bob Marley DJKAT IS A DJ, PRESENTER, POET, MUSIC JOURNALIST AND A SOUL REBEL DJKat grew up in Coventry, a likkle city near Birmingham. Where as a young person was receiving many adverse situations. DJKat needed a way to channel the feelings that was building up inside. DJKat began to play the heartbeat music of Reggae at the tender age of 16, at the start it was listening to the greats such as Bob Marley, Garnett Silk, Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse, Gregory Issacs and many more. DJKat then began to start wanting to give this genre of music to the world and started to be interested in radio, presenting music and DJ-ing at events such as clubs and festivals . It all began at 16 on a local community radio station called Hillz FM where DJKat began making a name for herself and what her branding is, she started playing with other local DJ’s such as DJ Mikey D and Maccabee International Sound. This has led DJKat to several different opportunities as a young female DJ within Coventry and Birmingham local clubs such as the West Indian Clubs, Rialto, SQ Club, Fargo Village, British Oak and PST and wants to push her talent further into the community and international. Every year there has been a Caribbean Festival where several thousand would attend, DJKat started to gain attention with old time classics of reggae such as Junior Mervin (Police and thieves) and Gregory Isaacs (Night Nurse) most defiantly went down a storm, many going past and rocking and shouting great tune, many requests DJKat received. This was one of the first Festivals DJKat began to play at, at a very early age of 17 in 2010.Then DJKat then moved on to Vanny Radio in 2013 to 2017, another local radio station, DJKat is also been popular with Ghanaian artists and Jamaican artists that have sent requests for DJKat to play their music with phone ins from all different international artists from USA, Jamaica, France, Canada and Africa. DJKat was undergoing a degree, in Youth and community development and DJKat was able to use her skills she has learned to the local community stations, and help provide assistance to other upcoming artists from different genres and provide a platform for upcoming talent.

Where DJKat shared the stage with Kiko Bun. Where she plays several genres of music to appeal to the crowd from Reggae, Ska all the way to R&B, Grime and Bashment as the tent audience changed. DJKat started to do a YouTube Channel in 2017 to present, on the different interviews, that she does, such as with Protoje, Macka B, Jah Bouks, Treesha, Susan Codagan, Young Warrior, Royal Blu, Skorcha(Sizzla’s son)Congo Natty, Samory I, Lila ike, Stranger cole, Alex Marley, Beenie Man, Cat Coore from Third World and many more great artists. This has become very popular within 2018 within the community as many young people and the elder generation ask DJKat to interview them from different parts of the world, this is a great blessing and allows the conversations of music that DJKat has can be showcased for the listeners.

In our home town such as Eyeden, whizzy and Skatta have all featured on DJKat’s show. This goes down a storm as the young people can showcase themselves. DJKat now presents on several radio stations from Arawak Radio.com every Wednesday and Saturday showcasing new and veteran artists also featuring on reggaestormradio. Then a special every Tuesday on Imperial Voice Radio every Tuesday where his H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie stayed when in the uk (Bath) DJKat also had the great privilege to DJ at the Godiva Festival.
